BeeEngage

Engagement Widgets Suite

Longer sessions. More pageviews. First-party data. All three pay.

Polls, quizzes, match predictions, live cricket scores and reaction bars — drop-in widgets that give readers a reason to stay. Each interaction extends the session, adds a pageview, and tells you something real about that reader, which becomes a first-party audience segment your ad stack can charge a premium for.

The problem

What this is costing you right now

01

One page, one scroll, gone — thin sessions cap your revenue

The median session on most Indian publisher sites is a single pageview from search.

02

You know nothing about your readers

No first-party data means no premium targeting, and in a cookieless world that is the difference between selling an audience and selling an impression.

03

Engagement tools exist, but they do not pay you

You can bolt a free poll plugin onto your page.

How it works

What BeeEngage actually does

No black box. Here is the whole mechanism, step by step.

BeeEngage — how it works

  1. 1

Drop a widget into the article

One script, then a poll, quiz, prediction, live scorecard or reaction bar goes wherever you want it. Each widget lazy-renders and inherits your theme through CSS variables, so it looks like part of the page rather than a bolted-on plugin.

  2. 2

The reader interacts, and the session stretches

Answering a poll, finishing a quiz or checking a live score keeps someone on the page longer and pulls them deeper into the site. Longer sessions mean more impressions, better viewability, and more room for BeeFresh's gates to open honestly.

  3. 3

Each interaction becomes a declared interest

Somebody who takes a cricket prediction quiz has told you something a pageview never could. That signal is stored — with consent — as a first-party attribute against that reader, not inferred from a third-party cookie that is about to stop existing.

  4. 4

    Signals become audience segments

Attributes group into segments — "cricket-engaged", "finance-quiz-takers", "recipe-followers" — sized and reported so you know what you actually have to sell.

  5. 5

Segments go into the auction as key-values

The segments are passed to BeeBid as targeting key-values, so buyers can bid up for the audience they want. This is the step that turns engagement into money rather than into a nice-looking chart.

The first three steps happen on your page; the last two happen in your ad stack. Data collection is consent-gated and the segments stay yours.
  • Polls, quizzes, scores six widgets at launch
  • Under 25KB suite per-widget lazy render
  • First-party segments consent-gated

A widget mid-article gives the reader a reason to stay — and turns that interaction into a segment your bidders can target.

An optional companion ad slot sits beside each widget, in a high-attention position.

Specifications

Full technical specification

Publishers compare specifications, not adjectives. Everything is here, including what depends on partners we do not control.

Widgets & embed

Widgets & embed
Widgets at launch Poll, quiz (scored, with results), match prediction, live cricket scorecard (data-feed powered), emoji reactions bar, and "follow this topic" — which feeds straight into a BeePush subscription.
Embed One script for the whole suite, per-widget lazy render, <25KB total. Theme-matched through CSS custom properties rather than an iframe, so widgets inherit your fonts and colours and stay responsive.

Data & ad integration

Data & ad integration
Data pipeline An event stream — view, interact, complete — feeding a first-party segment builder. Consent-gated at collection. Segments are yours: not shared with other publishers, not sold to third parties, exportable if you leave.
Ad integration An optional companion ad slot adjacent to each widget, served through BeeBid — new inventory in a high-attention position. Plus sponsored widget skins ("This poll presented by X") as direct-sold inventory with clear labelling.

Quality & reporting

Quality & reporting
Anti-abuse Rate limits and bot filtering on every interaction. This is a data-quality protection, not a security feature: a poll that a script voted in 40,000 times produces a segment that is worthless to a buyer, and a buyer who discovers that stops trusting all your segments.
Cricket data Live scorecards run on a licensed sports data feed. Coverage and refresh intervals depend on the feed agreement, which is a real dependency and stated as one rather than implied to be unlimited.
Analytics Engagement rate per widget, added session time, segment sizes, and revenue attribution split into direct (companion slot, sponsored skin) and assisted (the extra pageviews and the segment premium).
Placement Per-template rules, with A/B testing through BeeLab — widget position and type are exactly the kind of thing that should be measured rather than argued about.

Some capabilities depend on third-party approvals and platform policies that are not ours to promise. Where that is the case, the spec above says so explicitly.

What the industry reports

Every number below is an industry benchmark published by a third party. BeeOS has not shipped, so none of these are results we have produced.

Expected difference

+5–10% direct benchmark 1

The direct number is the smallest in Module 2. The compounding session-depth and data gains are the real case.

+5–10%

Direct revenue uplift from engagement widgets benchmark 1

Companion slots and sponsored skins — the part you can see immediately.

Compounding

Indirect uplift via session depth and first-party segments benchmark 1

Harder to attribute, and over time usually the larger half.

<25KB

Total weight of the whole widget suite

Per-widget lazy render — unused widgets cost nothing.

Being straight with you: The direct number here is the smallest in Module 2, and we are not going to inflate it. The real case for BeeEngage is the second-order effect: deeper sessions give every Module 1 product more to work with, and a first-party segment is the only durable answer to third-party cookies going away. Both of those are slow, compounding and genuinely hard to attribute cleanly — which is why the reporting separates direct from assisted revenue instead of quietly bundling them into one flattering figure.

Questions

BeeEngage — frequently asked

The whole suite is under 25KB and each widget renders lazily — a widget below the fold costs nothing until someone scrolls to it. They are theme-matched with CSS variables rather than iframed, which avoids the layout and performance cost that makes most third-party embeds painful.

Collection is consent-gated, the data stays yours, and it is not shared with other publishers or sold to third parties. We store declared behaviour — this person took a cricket quiz — rather than building cross-site profiles. If you leave, you export your segments and we retain nothing.

Yes — sponsored widget skins are supported as direct-sold inventory with clear "presented by" labelling. For regional publishers with local advertiser relationships this is often easier to sell than a display campaign, because the brand gets something that looks like content rather than a banner.

A licensed sports data feed. Coverage — which tournaments, how granular, how fast the refresh — depends on the feed agreement, and we will tell you exactly what is covered rather than let you assume every match at every level is included.

You will see segment sizes and the revenue attributed to segment-targeted impressions separately from everything else. If buyers are not paying a premium for your cricket-engaged audience, that will be visible in your own dashboard rather than hidden inside a total. Small sites should expect small segments to be worth little until they build scale.
